Ogneliss Mail is a free email client for Android phones and tablets and for iPhone and iPad (iOS 15 or later). It connects to your Microsoft Exchange, Gmail, Outlook.com, Yandex, Mail.ru and other IMAP/SMTP accounts and lets you read, write, search and organise your email, and view and manage the calendar and contacts of those accounts — all in one app. No sign-up is needed: you simply add your existing mail accounts in the app. Your mail stays on your device, encrypted; there are no ads and no analytics.

How Ogneliss Mail uses Google user data

You can add a Google account (Gmail or Google Workspace) by signing in to that Google account. With your permission, the app uses the following Google data, only to provide the features you see in the app:

  • Gmail (https://mail.google.com/) — to download, show, search, send, move and delete your email over IMAP and SMTP when you ask it to;
  • Gmail settings (gmail.settings.basic) — to import your existing Gmail signature when you add the account;
  • Google Calendar (…/auth/calendar) — to show your calendars and events and save the events you create or edit (CalDAV);
  • Google Contacts (…/auth/carddav) — to show your contacts and suggest addresses while you write (CardDAV);
  • Your name, email address and profile photo (openid, email, profile) — to identify and label the account in the app.

Google user data is stored only on your device in an encrypted database and is exchanged only with Google. The only exception is sign-in: the developer’s sign-in server (ogneliss.ru/oauth) exchanges the one-time authorization code for tokens and keeps them in memory for at most 2 minutes until the app collects them; it never accesses your email, calendar or contacts. Your Google data itself is never uploaded to the developer’s servers, never sold, never shared with third parties, never used for advertising and never used to train AI models. Ogneliss Mail’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. No generative AI. Ogneliss Mail does not use Google APIs or Google user data to create, train or distribute AI-generated non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII) or any other AI-generated content. The app contains no generative AI features.

Features

  • Microsoft Exchange via ActiveSync and EWS: mail, calendar, contacts and tasks, meeting responses, out-of-office replies, organisation address book search
  • Gmail, Outlook.com, Yandex, Mail.ru and other providers via IMAP and SMTP; sign in with your provider account (OAuth) or an app password
  • Google, Yandex and Mail.ru calendars and contacts via CalDAV and CardDAV
  • My Day — a pocket assistant on one screen: in the morning, what lies ahead; during the day, what is left; today’s meetings and tasks, the next free slot, overlapping meetings, mail you follow up on and from important people, and how tomorrow starts; a morning summary, a task board and a home-screen widget (Android)
  • Follow-up and Later: mail with a reply deadline and a reminder; a message leaves the inbox and comes back when you need it
  • Meeting prep: recent mail with the attendees and its attachments, right in the meeting card
  • Mail classification (restricted, confidential, personal data and more): the label travels inside the message with “do not forward” and “organisation only” handling, an optional tag in the subject, hidden text in notifications, fingerprint to open, screenshots blocked
  • Instant delivery: Exchange push and IMAP IDLE — on Android also in the background; on iPhone and iPad, push works while the app is open, and in the background iOS checks the Inbox periodically (iOS decides when, usually every 15–60 minutes)
  • Data protection: encrypted on-device database (SQLCipher), PIN and biometric lock, tracker blocking in messages
  • Exchange policies: screen lock requirements and remote wipe on server command
  • Corporate networks: trusts certificate authorities installed on the device and, optionally, the Russian Ministry of Digital Development certificates
  • No ads, no analytics, no generative AI

Each of these features can be turned off in the app’s settings.

Availability

Android

The Android version is in closed testing on Google Play. Open the testing page on your Android phone, tap “Become a tester” and install the app from Google Play. If the page says you don’t have access, email oedante@gmail.com from the Google account you use with Google Play and we will add you as a tester.

iPhone and iPad

The version for iPhone and iPad (iOS 15 or later) is being prepared for the App Store. Until then, a beta is available through TestFlight on request: email oedante@gmail.com and we will send you an invitation.

Data deletion

All application data is stored on your device. To delete it, remove the account in the application (Settings → Accounts) or uninstall the application. To revoke the application’s access to your Google account, use myaccount.google.com/permissions. Details: Privacy Policy, “Data deletion”.
